Hi! My name is Emlyn. I’m a 30 something ESL teacher, wife, and mom. I’m also living with multiple chronic conditions (MCC). That makes life interesting! When I went to look for help and ideas online, I found nothing for patients dealing with MCC. I know I’m not the only one living with MCC, so I decided to create the kind of resource I had been looking for.
I’m not a doctor, a nurse, or a medical professional. I have studied enough biology, chemistry, medical terminology, etc. that I can usually keep up with my doctors when they talk about things in more scientific and medical terms. I know how to find my way around a scientific article – and how to spot the bad ones. So while I’m not a medical professional – and nothing on this site should be taken as medical advice – I am an experienced and educated patient.
On this site, you’ll find tips and tricks for living with MCC. I’ve also written some things for doctors! I’ve read some great tips given to doctors about patients with MCC, but almost all of it was written by other doctors. What I’m writing here is coming from the patient’s perspective.
As I finish getting things set up, you’ll also find things like easy, healthy recipes, reviews of adaptive tools and technology, and some other miscellaneous things that tie into living with a bunch of health conditions.
I’m not an expert in anything, and I can’t tell you what will work best for your unique circumstances… but I am someone else who is here in the trenches. We can do this together!
